Get ready to meet the Audi e-Tron GT

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, you heard it right, the German automaker has confirmed the arrival of the much anticipated Audi e-Tron GT. Identical to the concept the automaker unveiled in 2018, the e-Tron GT will come out of its covers on 9th Feb 2021.

For those of you who aren't aware, the Audi e-Tron is a sports saloon that shares tech with another superstar, the Porsche Taycan. The Audi's latest product is suspected to reach the showrooms by the end of the year.

Audi has shared with us all a teaser image wherein the silhouette of the car was visible. It's very much evident that the e-Tron shares a lot of its design from the concept car showcased by Audi at the 2018 Los Angeles Motor Show,

Further, the car's hybrid coupe sedan design creates a mesmerizing aerodynamic flow that seems to be extremely practical. The camouflaged prototype, however, displayed a very aggressive stance with its single-frame grille, ragged headlight and taillight, and curved roofline.

Apart from sharing its tech with the Porsche Taycan, the Audi e-Tron GT uses its J11 chassis as well. So, the standard drive configuration of the vehicle is two-motor with a single-speed transmission that controls the front axle. For the rear axle there is a separate two-speed gearbox.

As per reports, the e-tron GT lineup will include a high-performance RS trim that is said to come with a capacity of 590 hp and 830 Nm.

The e-Tron comes with a 83.7 kWh lithium-ion battery whose maximum operating range is expected to be around 400 km. With iys 800-volt charging system, the battery gets 80 percent charged in just 20 minutes. A wireless charging system is also part of the kit along with a differential restraints slip.
