Genesis reveals official images of 2020 G70, sales to commence soon
KUALA LUMPUR: It was only in March that Genesis revealed the G80, and now we have the official images of the new 2020 G70. As expected, it adapts a lot from G80's design theme.
Let's now discuss what all the Genesis G70 has to offer, starting with the design. The luxury sedan features an athletic exterior design that Hyundai's luxury arm provides in several models. The said design language is further enhanced in the G70 via the inclusion of the two-tier headlamps called Quad Lamps. The Genesis signature crest grille now bears a different shape as was seen in the June spy shots, giving the sedan a unique front fascia.
On the sides, we can see two strong lines running parallel to each other, adding to the car's muscular feel. Replacing the G80's twin LED turn signals are the side air extractors that optimise the car's efficiency. The sedan also gets a re-designed set of wheels that sure look striking.
At the rear gets the same lighting treatment as the front, the Quad Lamp. The trunk lid is a bit sharp, almost like a lip spoiler, followed by body-coloured diffuser and two oval exhaust tips.
The cabin features a driver-centric layout along with the latest connectivity options. One of the highlighting features of the G70 interior is the inclusion of the new 10.25-inch infotainment system with exclusive Genesis UI design and latest over-the-air, wifi update feature, Apple CarPlay, and Valet mode. The car features an updated wireless charging setup that can fit bigger smartphones.
The automaker is numb on the powertrain details. However, as per a few sources, the manual gearbox has been dropped. Exact information will be released close to the sedan's debut that is scheduled for next month in Korea.
