Genesis GV70: All you need to know

KUALA LUMPUR: Genesis has finally revealed its second SUV, the GV70. Currently limited to the Korean market, it is expected to arrive in other countries soon. But before that happens, let’s see what all the new Genesis SUV has on offer.

Genesis GV70 dimensions

Compared to its elder counterpart, the GV80, the new Genesis SUV is a bit smaller. It measures 4,175 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, 1,630 mm in height. Its wheelbase reads 2,875 mm, thus ensuring a spacious cabin and a large boot.

The bigger petrol engine touches the 100 kmph mark in just 5.1 seconds.

Next up is the 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that pumps out a maximum power of 210 PS and a peak torque of 441 Nm.

On the transmission side, there is an 8-speed automatic gearbox that depending on the variant offers front- or all-wheel drive.

Talking about mileage, the diesel engine offers the best deal at 13.6 kmph, next is the 2.5L petrol unit at 10.7 kmpl, and last is the 3.5L V6 mill at 8.6 kmpl.

As is evident from the pictures, the GV70 is a beautiful car with all its smooth curves and sharp cuts. In all sense, it is a true modern-day car whose beauty is increased by its two-tier headlamps, signature Crest grille, distinctive window line, prominent C-pillars, and wrap-around two-tier taillamps.

The cabin too features a subtle look and feel, all dipped in premium leather upholstery. The dashboard showcases a distinctive design and looks a lot more neat compared to the one in GV80. Also, the focal point here is the single bold character line running across the front panel.
