GAC GS3 Emzoom gets 5-star rating in ASEAN NCAP safety assessment
KUALA LUMPUR: Launched in Malaysia in April this year, the GAC GS3 Emzoom is a compact SUV with a futuristic design, advanced technology, and a fuel-efficient engine. This Chinese SUV has recently undergone the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries) safety tests and passed it with flying colours.

The credit for this impressive safety rating goes to the vehicle’s strong build quality and extensive list of safety features, including six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Stability Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking City, AEB Inter-Urban, AEB Pedestrian, Blind Spot Visualization for both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle, Auto High Beam and Pedestrian Protection technology.
Speaking of the advanced safety assist technologies, the 5-seater Emzoon comes equipped with AEB for Motorcycle, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Keep Assist.
“ASEAN NCAP is proud that the GAC made the leap of having its latest model, the GAC EMZOOM, to undergo the ASEAN NCAP 2021–2025 assessment. True to its commitment to safety, the GAC EMZOOM has ensured a well-deserved safety performance from both its passive and active safety features offered in the model,” said the safety rating agency.
The company highlighted two standard safety features of the car significant for motorcyclists. The first is Blind Spot Visualization on both driver and passenger sides while the other is Automatic Emergency braking for motorcycles. These technologies help drivers avoid side and frontal collisions with motorcycles.
Introduced as a CBU model back in April, the GAC GS3 Emzoom is now available as a locally assembled vehicle in Malaysia. The CKD GS3 Emzoom is offered in a sole Premium-R variant, priced at RM 126,800, which is RM 2,000 less than the CBU version.
