G15 BMW 8 Series luxury coupe launched in Malaysia with single engine variant

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia recently started accepting pre-bookings for the new G15 BMW 8 Series Coupe. And now it has launched the car in the country with a single-engine variant.

The coupe is a flagship offering from the German brand. It is equipped with almost all the new generation technology along with some exclusive features. To start with the exterior, the car employs BMW Laserlight headlamps (with BMW Selective Beam) and BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line trim. The Laserlight headlamps on this car are narrowest among all the BMW models but are powerful enough to produce a decent illumination. Moreover, the package also includes an additional front spoiler and boot lid lip spoiler that improve the aerodynamics of the vehicle.

The interior displays BMW Individual Merino full leather trim sport seats which can be customised in Black, Cognac or Ivory White colors and are electronically adjustable. There is also the BMW Live Cockpit Professional system that features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment display. Also, this model will be the first BMW car in Malaysia to be bestowed with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which is powered by BMW’s Open Mobility Cloud and artificial intelligence. Moreover, the assistant doesn’t require any activation word and can be operated from outside the vehicle.

Being a flagship offering, the car is also accoutered with smart features like BMW Digital Key that uses NFC to unlock the car from a smartphone, dual-zone climate control, a head-up display, and a built-in SIM card.

Under the hood, the N63B44T3 4.4-litre petrol V8 powers the coupe that delivers a maximum power output of 530 PS and 750 Nm of maximum torque. The massive torque allows the car to reach 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.7 seconds. Additionally, it can attain a top speed of 250 kmph and consumes 10.4 litres per 100 km.

BMW Malaysia has made the G15 BMW 8 Series available for RM1,088,800 (on-the-road without insurance).
