Ford Raptor Rev: Malaysia’s first premier off-road event announced

KUALA LUMPUR:  Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, has unveiled plans for an exciting off-road experience tailored for owners of the Next-Generation Ford Ranger Raptor.

Dubbed the Ford Raptor Rev, this one-day event will be Malaysia’s first dedicated off-road event designed specifically for Raptor enthusiasts. It is set to take place in the first quarter of 2025.

The Ford Raptor Rev aims to provide participants with an opportunity to push their vehicles to the limit in a controlled, off-road setting.

The event will combine immersive driver training sessions with an autocross competition, offering a comprehensive off-road experience for Raptor owners.

“This event promises a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience the full power of their vehicles in an exhilarating, immersive setting, while building camaraderie among like-minded individuals and the Ranger community,” said Turse Zuhair, Managing Director of SDAC-Ford.

The Next-Generation Ranger Raptor has been a strong performer in Malaysia, with over 4,000 units sold to date. This event is expected to deepen the connection between owners and their vehicles while fostering stronger ties within the growing Ranger community.

While the event is exclusively designed for Raptor owners, SDAC hinted at opportunities for non-Ford owners to participate in some capacity, with more details to be revealed soon.

The Next-Generation Ford Ranger Raptor is a high-performance pickup truck engineered by Ford Performance to excel in both on-road and off-road conditions.

It features advanced FOX suspension systems, robust chassis enhancements, and a suite of technologies designed to enhance driving dynamics and durability.

In Malaysia, the Ranger Raptor is available in two variants:

3.0L V6 Twin-Turbo EcoBoost Petrol Engine: This variant is equipped with a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine, delivering substantial power and torque for demanding driving scenarios.

• Power Output: 405 horsepower
• Torque: 583 Nm
• Transmission: 10-speed automatic
• Drivetrain: 4WD

2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel Engine: This variant features a 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine, offering a balance of performance and fuel efficiency.

 

• Power Output: 210 horsepower
• Torque: 500 Nm
• Transmission: 10-speed automatic
• Drivetrain: 4WD

 

Both variants come with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 4WD system, ensuring smooth power delivery and enhanced traction across various terrains.

The pricing for the Next-Generation Ford Ranger Raptor in Peninsular Malaysia is as follows:

2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel 4WD 10-Speed Automatic Transmission: Priced at RM248,888.00 (on-the-road, without insurance).

3.0L V6 Twin-Turbo EcoBoost 4WD 10-Speed Automatic Transmission: Priced at RM259,888.00 (on-the-road, without insurance).
