Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: While we are waiting for the all-new next-gen Ford Ranger to land on our shores, the Blue Oval distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion rolled out a new special edition of the ongoing pickup truck to please us. The new variant is called Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition and is priced at RM 136,888 (excluding insurance, road tax, and registration). Included in the price is a five-year/160,000 km manufacturer’s warranty.

Let’s now know what the new Ford Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition has on offer.

The new pickup truck gets a bolder, forward-looking, and more powerful exterior, thanks to the block-letter front grille, more prominent fender flares, and restyled sports bars. 

Inside, the automaker brings onboard an in-built digital video recorder providing a range of functions, such as HD recording, wide-angle viewing, night view recording, a built-in polarised filter, and Mobile App connect via hotspot. It supports both Android and Apple iOS and Android operating systems and comes with a 32GB memory card. Also part of the kit is new illuminated front scuff plates accentuating the style quotient of the pickup. 

Under the bonnet of the Ranger XLT Plus Special Edition lies a 2.0-litre single-turbo engine generating a maximum power output of 180 PS and a peak torque of 420 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a ten-speed automatic transmission. Contributing to the performance is 800 mm water-wading and heaving towing capacity.
