Ford Ranger Leads Malaysian Sales of the Brand in November 2015

Kuala Lumpur: Ever since the new Ford Ranger made its Malaysia debut in the late nineties, it's been the brand's best-selling model in the country. The same trend continues today as the November retail sales record of Ford Malaysia shows that the pick-up truck registered 85% of total sales of 830 units. From January 2015 to November 2015, the cumulative sales of the new Ford Ranger reached 8,477 units, which is 12% higher than for the same duration in 2014.

While revealing the record sales figures of the new Ranger, David Westerman, MD, Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets of Ford Motor Company has said that the Malaysian customers prefer to buy vehicles that provide a great combination of safety, technology, capability and performance, and the new Ranger's perfect combination of all these makes it the most popular pick-up truck in the country. Westerman also added that the ever-increasing demand of the new Ranger has helped the company to record its best-ever year for the Ford Ranger sales ever since it first arrived in Malaysia 15 years ago. He also emphasized that the company is working hard to keep the dealer stock high across its network so that it can increase customer deliveries all across the country.

The new Ford pickup is the most powerful pickup truck in Malaysia. Available with two engine options: a 2.2L Duratorq four-cylinder engine or a 3.2L Duratorq five-cylinder engine, the new Ford pickup also features the highest payload capacity (up to 12,000kgs) and it can drive easily through up to 800 mm of water - the deepest of any pickup available in the country. The month of November has also marked three important milestones for the new Ranger as it was awarded for its top-notch safety features and overall leadership in the pickup truck segment. Thanks to the top-notch safety features of the new Ranger, the pickup truck got a maximum 5-Star Safety Rating by the ASEAN NCAP (ASEAN New Car Assessment Program) with a total AOP (Adult Occupant Protection) score of 15.45/16 points. It's the highest ASEAN NCAP Score award to any pickup truck in Malaysia. Ford Ranger has also won the "Best Pickup Truck' Award in 2015 ASEAN Car of the Year Awards.
