Ford Ranger Faces a RM4k Price Hike Before Facelift Appears

Kuala Lumpur: Ford is all set to launch a face-lifted Ranger T6 in Malaysia later this week. Although the current Ranger T6 would continue to be on sale until the stocks last. There is also an upgrade regarding the prices of the original Ranger T6 which will be increased by tomorrow. The price hike news was delivered through a bulletin and a confirmation has also been taken from Sime Darby Auto Connexion, the official dealer of Ford in Malaysia.

According to the company, this price hike is inevitable due to Ringgit's poor performance against the US Dollar. This is not the first time an automaker has increased the price as a result of forex, earlier also many carmakers has done that. Talking about Ford Ranger, the prices are set to go up by RM4,000. The pricing for 2.2-litre line-up starts from RM76,453 for the 2.2L XL 4x2 Lo-Rider manual and the single cab 2.2-litre XL 4x4 Hi-Rider manual. While the price for 2.2-litre XLT 4x4 automatic goes up to RM101,415. Talking about 3.2-litre model line-up, it consists of three variants. The first one being 3.2-litre XLT manual is priced at RM103,411, the 3.2-litre XLT automatic at RM110,504 while the range-topping 3.2-litre Wildtrak 4x4 automatic is rolled out with a price tag of RM122,985.

Earlier in August this year, a Special Edition Ford Ranger was also launched which was limited to just 100 units. This edition was based on the 2.2-litre XLT Automatic 4x4 Hi-Rider and was priced at RM108,200. The Ford Ranger T6 was updated for the Malaysian market in May 2104 along with new safety features. Now, the speculations are being made for an increase in the price of facelift also as the current version is also affected. Back in August, it was reported that facelifted Ranger would be launched with a 3% price hike.
