Ford launches Ranger Splash in Malaysia, priced at RM 138,888

KUALA LUMPUR: SDAC (Sime Darby Auto Connexion) has brought the Limited edition Ford Ranger Splash in Malaysia, and it is exclusively available at the popular e-commerce website, Lazada’s 11.11 Shopping Festival. However, the saddest part is, only 19 Ranger Splash will arrive in the country. The limited-edition car is on display at Ford showroom in Petaling Jaya.

The Limited-edition Ford Ranger Splash is based on its 2.0L XLT Plus Automatic version. While some modifications and additional features have been there, the car comes with Absolute Black paint job as standard along with “Ranger Splash” decals having fluorescent treatments on each. There are kangaroo bar, side mirror covers, front grille, sports bar, rear bumper, alloy wheels, fender flares, etc. present in matte black finish. Moreover, a new 360-degree around-view monitor and a built-in toll reader are present.

On the mechanical department, the Limited-edition Ford Ranger Splash is equipped with a 2.0-litre single-turbo diesel unit that can make a maximum power of 180 PS along with a peak torque 420 Nm. The power is sent to all the four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. The on-the-fly switching can also be done between 4WD High, 2WD and 4WD Low.

Ford Ranger Splash comes with a price tag of RM 138,888 on-the-road without insurance and has a five-year/100,000 free maintenance package and three-year/100,000-km factory warranty. One has to pre-book the pick up from the Chup Dulu function of Lazanda, which will be organised in between October 28 to November 10. In this procedure, the buyers need to pay RM 139, which is a non-refundable deposit via Lazada app.

The booking fee is RM 1,389, so the rest of it (RM 1,250) will be paid on November 11 to secure the booking. According to SDAC, the full amount of the booking process can be refunded. On the other hand, if the customer is ready to own the pick-up, a Ford representative will contact him/her, so that he/she can complete the purchase at his/her preferred showroom. Moreover, a Petronas gift card of RM 500 will be provided to the first 11 customers who have done the booking process via Chup Dulu.
