The European Focus RS was powered by a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine which delivered a maximum power of 350 hp at 6800 rpm along with a peak torque of 440 Nm at 2000 to 4500 rpm. But the output for US version would come to 350 hp at 6000 rpm and the same torque of 440 Nm at 2000 to 4500 rpm. Although, 470 Nm is also available for up to 15 seconds on transient overboost during hard acceleration. The US version's torque is listed at 475 Nm at 3200 rpm. The four-cylinder units twin-scroll turbo delivers a peak boost of 23.2 psi. No other performance numbers are mentioned for the American model, but you can expect it to be close to the Euro sibling which completes a century sprint in just 4.7 seconds along with a top speed of 266 kmph.

It is also being speculated that Ford might be planning to release the Ford Focus RS as a limited unit model in the US. Focus RS will be the first Ford sold in the US with a 'stall recovery' system. This system allows the driver to simply press the clutch back in after a stall and the engine will restart. Hence, there will be no need for the driver to manually restart the engine or shift the gear knob to neutral. Apart from this, Ford is also planning to bring more than 12 high-performance vehicles to market globally by 2020.
