Ford Everest vs Toyota Fortuner: Head to Head
Kuala Lumpur: 2015 Ford Everest is all set to mark a launch in Malaysia which would eventually shake-up the much-settled market of Toyota Fortuner. It is always exciting to witness an SUV war between two robust automakers. This war would also pose a tough decision-making challenge for its customers. Both the cars would be placed in a similar price range which would further make it a difficult choice for potential buyers. Their unparalleled performance would give rise to an ultimate showdown as Everest vs Fortuner.
We have decided to draw a basic comparison between these SUV's regarding their engine, exterior and interior to make your decision-making task easier.
Engine and Specifications:
Both the cars have got their own USPs so one cannot declare a clear winner. While Ford Everest can generate a power of 192 hp at just 3000 rpm with its 3.2-litre TDCi Duratorq diesel engine, the Toyota Fortuner has taken a back seat with its 2.7-litre DOHC engine with VVT-i which can produce only 160 PS at 5200 rpm. Talking about the torque, Ford Everest has again hit the nail on the head with its commanding torque of 470 Nm at 1750-2500 rpm unlike Fortuner's torque of 343 Nm at 1600-2800. This powerful torque would help Ford Everest to complete any uphill task given to it. If you are a speed lover who likes to zoom into higher speeds in just fraction of seconds then you would love Toyota Fortuner as it takes just 12.2 seconds to reach an acceleration of 100 kmph from a position of halt while Ford Everest takes a closer 13.4 seconds to complete this task.

Exterior:
If you are a person who would just go for handsome looks and great exterior then Toyota Fortuner is your car. Ford Everest is judged to be a traditional SUV as compared to the modern-looking Fortuner. Toyota Fortuner stands 22 mm narrower than Everest but stands tall with an added 14mm. Ford Everest's huge alloy wheels measuring 20-inch for the titanium variant makes it look more sporty and aggressive than Fortuner which is anchored with standard 17-inch alloy wheels. Toyota likes its car to look more macho and that is why it has designed the Fortuner with a masculine body. As compared to Ford Everest, you would find more dynamic lines on Toyota Fortuner which gives it a 3D look.

Interior:
Looking at the interior, both the automakers have gone a step further to make their car look more luxurious along with a touch of modernity and practicality. Both the cars feature a multi-function touch screen which are designed to deliver ultimate convenience. Their overall cabin looks much similar and gives a head-to-head competition to each other. But for all those space lovers, Toyota Fortuner would be a disappointment as it has got just 296-litres of boot space while
Ford Everest carries a boot space of 450-litres which can be further extended to a whopping 2010-litres by folding down the rear seats.
