KUALA LUMPUR: The premium Italian manufacturer, Ferrari has come forward to support the people of Ukraine by graciously donating one million Euros (approx RM 4.5 million), hoping to ease the hardship they are facing in the midst of war.

Companies to halt production and business activities in Russia are VW, Honda, Toyota, AB Volvo, Renault, Ford, and Daimler Truck. Now adding to the list are Ferrari and Lamborghini.As per UN’s refugee agency, the UNHCR, The ongoing Russia-Ukraine has forced more than two million civilians to leave their country.
Ferrari CEO, Benedetto Vigna in his statement said, “Ferrari stands alongside everyone in Ukraine affected by this ongoing humanitarian crisis. While we hope for a rapid return to dialogue and a peaceful solution, we cannot remain indifferent to the suffering of everyone affected. Our thoughts and support go out to them. We are playing our small part alongside the institutions that are bringing immediate relief to this situation.”
The Ferrari donation is funneled through the Emilia-Romagna region in collaboration with UNHCR and the Red Cross. The amount will be used to fund international humanitarian projects that will be supporting Ukraine and local initiatives focusing on accepting and helping refugees in the Italian region.
Some aid will also go towards the Association Chernobyl of Maranello, Fiorano, Formigine, to provide for the needs of the Ukraine refugees hosted in the area near the Company.

In a statement, Lamborghini said, "In light of the current situation, business with Russia has been put on hold. Lamborghini hopes for a swift end of the hostilities and a return to diplomacy."
Ferrari’s statement on the issue read, "given the ongoing situation Ferrari has taken the decision to suspend the production of vehicles for the Russian market until further notice."
