Delayed servicing won’t impact vehicle warranty, says UMW Toyota
KUALA LUMPUR: In line with the extension of the Movement Control Order in Malaysia, all car dealerships and service centres will remain shut until April 14. This got many car owners worrying about meeting their car’s maintenance schedules, as delays usually affect the warranty claims.
Well, no need to fret, as automakers realise it too, and they have decided to bring a few changes amidst the ongoing pandemic we are all fighting. Talking about UMW Toyota, which shut down the doors of countrywide Toyota and Lexus facilities on March 18, has announced that vehicle maintenance delay due to the MCO would not affect the warranty.

Further, the automaker added that all Toyota and Lexus vehicles who’s warranty are expiring during the MCO, would be granted a 30-day warranty extension; it will be calculated from the last day of MCO. As of now, the last day of MCO is said to be April 14, but it could be revised depending on the number of cases affected by the virus.
On similar grounds, UMW Toyota said that all periodic maintenance scheduled initially for the affected period would be rescheduled as and when UMW Lexus and UMW Toyota Malaysia resume operations.
