COVID-19 Update: BMW Malaysia comes forward in support of underprivileged communities

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia will support the underprivileged and marginalised communities in the country via supporting local food relief efforts. The organisation has committed to contribute RM 100 towards the cause - for every model funded via the BMW Engage platform.

BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia Chief of Sales & Marketing, Danielle Maassen said: “In these challenging times, it is imperative that we come together to lend a helping hand wherever we can. Although we are looking at a gradual shift into the next phase of the National Recovery Plan, we want to continue providing support to these exceptional non-profit organisations who work hard to ensure that underprivileged families and individuals in the country do not go hungry.

He further added, “We have had the privilege of volunteering our time as an organisation with both Refuge for the Refugees and Empire Project for the last 18 months, and we are humbled to be able to contribute further to their relief efforts.”

The said initiative will run from 1st September to 31st December 2021, wherein BMW Malaysia will be seen supporting two local relief programmes - the Empire Project and Refuge for the Refugees. While the former local relief programme provides food and other essentials to marginalised Malaysian communities during the pandemic, the latter is a food aid programme that serves up to 700 families in the B40, refugee, and migrant communities on a weekly basis.

How will BMW help support these amazing initiatives?

Well, the automaker will be helping the two local relief programmes with logistics and delivery.
