COMOS to bring Hyundai Kona Electric in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: COMOS (Cohesive Mobility Solution) has introduced a new leasing programme for Hyundai Kona Electric. It plans to bring the battery-powered Kona Electric in Malaysia through the official channel, namely Hyundai Sime Darby Motor (HSDM).
According to COMOS, both market versions of Kona Electric would be available for lease. The first one is the standard version having a 39.2 kWh battery. It is capable of churning out a maximum power of 136 PS along with a peak torque of 395 Nm. The battery is good enough to provide an operating range of 312 Km. For a lease tenure of 60 months, one will need to pay RM 4,300 per month.
On the other hand, there is a 64 kWh version too. It is capable of pushing out a maximum power of 204 PS along with a peak torque of 395 Nm. It provides a WLTP certified range of 482 Km. One has to pay RM 4,900 per month for a 60-month lease tenure of this car.
The Hyundai Kona electric comes with a lot of standard equipment. These include all-LED lighting, a seven-inch touchscreen head-unit having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a seven-inch Supervision cluster colour LCD meter panel, leather seats, smart keyless entry, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, etc.
While the 64 kWh high spec variant comes with a head-up display, power-adjustable front seats, a tyre pressure monitoring system, auto wipers and wireless charging. Also, it gets some additional safety features including rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist and blind-spot collision warning.
COMOS has not revealed the total numbers of units of Kona it will buy from Hyundai for the leasing program. However, it has asked the public to register their interest in the programme.
