Come, be a part of Federal Auto Cars’ Plastic Sustainable Awareness Weekend

KUALA LUMPUR: In case you aren’t aware, Federal Auto Cars (FAC) is Volvo Cars Malaysia’s largest dealer and they are very much like Volvo and like to follow and promote sustainable living.

One of FAC’s recent steps in the field comes in the form of its Plastic Sustainable Awareness Weekend which aims to demonstrate to the public how small steps like recycling and improving sustainability on a large scale, can make a huge impact. The said event by FAC will take place on the upcoming weekend, i.e., 16-17 July at the All Federal Auto Cars centres, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Joining hands with FAC in its super sustainability effort is Beyond Bins, a flagship project by Biji-biji Initiative that works towards sustainability along with promoting alternative income sources for underprivileged communities.

Through this initiative, Beyond Bins aims to support the B40 community by selling the recycled plastic products that will be an output of the initiative. And so, FAC’s recycled plastic products will be on display at the event and in their showrooms. This definitely solves two crucial problems in one go, i.e., promoting sustainability and generating income for the underprivileged.

What’s more? Well, during its awareness weekend drive FAC will be conducting educational and interactive workshops on tackling plastic waste for the public. It will be done via an interactive plastic recycling showcasing at the dealer’s Kuala Lumpur and Glenmarie showrooms.

These two specific dealers will have a small-scale plastic recycling machine and customers will be encouraged to bring and recycle plastic bottles with the unit. As a token of encouragement, the participating customers will do a little something (limited to a first-come-first-serve basis).

Also, all FAC showrooms will be conducting a sustainable workshop wherein it will teach people to create a garden in a recycled plastic bottles. And will have a plastic recycling bin where customers can drop off their plastic junk that will be later passed onto Beyond Bins that will upcycle it.

Volvo and FAC are taking great efforts in the field of sustainability by integrating recycled plastic in their cars, however, if every single one of us contributes a little to the cause the results will be amazing. And who knows, if your plastic junk makes it to the next Volvo car!
