City is Honda Malaysia’s best seller, says its H1 2022 sales report
KUALA LUMPUR: The first half of the year is over and it's time to look back and introspect a bit. Honda did the same and the date revealed facts that we were quite expecting.

Looking at the local automobile market, Honda with 39k units has managed to attain 12 percent of the Total Industry Volume. Not bad, we must say.
Let’s now look at the model-wise contribution in Honda’s total H1 2022 sales. The City came out to be the biggest contributor with 39% share, followed by the City Hatch with 23%, and lastly Civic at 18%.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Hironobu Yoshimura said, “Honda Malaysia started 2022 on a high note with the launch of the Civic in January, which left a strong impression in the market with its attractive and premium features.”
“Recently in July, we kept the momentum going with the launch of our popular Compact SUV, the All-New HR-V. Since its launch, the all-new model, featuring exceptional styling and advanced technology, has received outstanding response from the market. The positive acceptance of the Honda models helped to boost our sales performance this year.”
In the six months duration, it was in March 2022 that Honda Malaysia sold a maximum number of cars, 10,500 units. Also, between January and June, the automaker received 105,000 bookings with a high influx seen during the end of the SST exemption period. As for the delivery of the cars they said, Honda is working hard to ensure that the new cars are delivered to the customers in a timely manner while maintaining the highest quality.”
Furthermore, Yoshimura also thanks the Malaysian government for extending the SST exemption registration period.
