Check out the new Nissan Fairlady Z; fresh images out
KUALA LUMPUR: Nissan Fairlady is in the logistic phase meaning it will soon reach the dealerships. Wondering how do we know such precise information about the upcoming Nissan? Well, all thanks to Nissan staff members at an overseas logistic facility who shared images of the all-new Fairlady Z.
The car in the images wears no camouflage, it just wears black tape over the brand’s long placed on the front bumper. Talking about its looks, the vehicle seen in the images looks more like a production-ready model, far from the Z Proto revealed by the automaker in September 2020. The good news is that the two cars have a lot in common on the design front, the Fairlady Z with the only difference being the presence of red brake callipers.
The car in the images might look production-ready, however, the real story comes to light when we see the interior picture. The texture-less, flat dashboard suggests the car is still in the pre-production phase or a step further in the prototype cycle. However, we can see all the essential features in place, like there’s a fully-digital instrument cluster, three-gauge meter pod, shift-by-wire selector knob, and a hand brake lever.
What else do we see? Well, the steering wheel features various controls and the ‘Z’ moniker at the centre. What’s interesting about the steering is that it’s circular and not the flat bottom as is the case with several Nissan mass-market cars like the Leaf, Almera Turbo, and Serena.
Coming to under the hood configuration, the two-seater sports car will be powered by a non-electrified 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo powertrain that pumps out a maximum power of 405 hp along with a peak torque of 480 Nm. The same mill also powers the several Infiniti models and Japan-limited Skyline 400R. It is because of the 405 hp power figure, it will be supposedly called the 400Z.
The Nissan Fairlady Z will enter production in 2022 with deliveries beginning from 2023.
