Check out the first look of 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
KUALA LUMPUR: The spy shots of 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class have been coming for a while now, but they were heavily camouflaged with few visible details. Well, no more wraps now, the luxury sedan is finally in front of us, with 99 percent of the disguise gone, thanks to the recent images shared on Instagram.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class has always been the best-selling premium sedan of the brand. To ensure its dominance, the automaker is giving it a complete design overhaul, both inside and out. Along with petrol and diesel, it is expected to come with a hybrid powertrain also.
The exterior design of the 2021 S-Class is now more sleek and modern. The front-end features a large chrome grille, edged by sleek LED headlamps. The redesigned bumper houses the tri-star badge on the hood. At the rear end, there are split LED tail lamps connected by a chrome strip. Though the exterior design is much similar to the ongoing S-Class, the story is not the same in the case of interior design.
It seems that the engineers of Mercedes have not left any stone unturned while designing the S-Class cabin. There is a new portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, which replaces the cluster of buttons and a swivel wheel given on the center console. The 2021 S-Class features a new digital driver’s instrument display on top of the steering column and the sleeker 3-spoke steering wheel. For the rear occupants, the sedan houses a touchscreen unit between the armrest for controlling several functions of the car.
The list of hi-tech appointments may include the latest version of the MBUX system, premium sound system, powered front seats with ventilation function, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, air suspension, and new drive modes.
About the mechanical setup, no substantial information has come yet, but as we mentioned earlier, S-Class is likely to be offered with a hybrid powertrain. In terms of safety features, it could be loaded with nine airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and Level 3 semi-autonomous driving features.
The global reveal of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is expected by the end of this year, which means it would arrive in the showrooms sometime in 2021.
