KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai has given the Sonata sedan a significant facelift, thus making the car in line with its new model range!

The Sonata facelift is scheduled to make its global premiere at the upcoming Seoul Mobility Show, running from 30th March to 9th April 2023.

Variants

Hyundai will offer its facelifted D-segment saloon in two trim options, namely Standard and N Line.

Exterior design

The new Sonata looks fairly attractive thanks to the new inclusions by the design team. The car is designed with an N Line base which includes -

• A long hood with a wide grille
• Low front-end
• Dynamic and aggressive-looking air intake
• A “seamless horizon lamp” at the front with hidden headlights

• “H-Lights” at the rear
• Fastback roofline
• Spoiler-shaped trunk lid
• Muffler-shaped rear garnish

The Sporty N Line variant features a few extra bits which distinguish it from the rest. For instance, it gets a rear spoiler, exclusive 19-inch wheels, and dual-twin tip mufflers.

Cabin inclusions

The bunch of images shared by Hyundai of the Sonata facelift contains several cabin clicks as well. The images reveal the sedan to include a twin 12.3-inch display, like the one seen in BMW cars along with a touch-type climate control unit.

Other inclusions include -

• A new “floating theme” creates a futuristic mood
• Column-type shift-by-wire controller behind the steering wheel
• Center console with palm rest (adding to driver’s comfort)
• Larger size cup holders & tray

Powertrain

Hyundai is still numb about the new Sonata’s powertrain detail and will reveal the same at the car’s global debut.
