Check out the 2021 Toyota Fortuner render
KUALA LUMPUR: It was only a while back that we gave you a glimpse of the upcoming Toyota Fortuner. With no camouflage, the images provided a better idea about the SUVs design, despite the grainy photo quality.
Well, this time around, a talented man, who goes by the name, Klimton Ang, took upon himself to come up with a render based on all the available information and images. As for the actual 2021 Fortuner, we’ll have to wait for the official reveals by Toyota.
Ang in a message said, “Due to the boredom caused by COVID-19, I made a facelift for the Fortuner. I couldn’t wait for Toyota’s official facelift, so I made this because I wanted to see something new.”
In the previous spy shots, the upcoming Fortuner displayed a new set of headlights, updated grille, and bumper design, and revamped fog lights housing. All these features can be seen in the render. There also appears to be a slightly tweaked front apron and a new hood. Other things that we saw on the 2021 Fortuner are the new set of alloy wheels that are different from the ones seen on the ongoing model.
The artist further said that “Believe it or not, the front didn’t come from a Lexus; it came from the Avanza. The headlights are borrowed from the new Harrier.”
On closer inspection, the render resembled the real thing. We are yet to see what the rear profile has in stock. And taking clues from the previously leaked images, the SUV is expected to feature an angular rear bumper corner and a faux rear air outlet. The taillight may also receive an update as they were camouflaged in the images that surfaced in January.
As for the under the hood scenario, the new Fortuner is expected to get - the 2.4-liter and the 2.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine. These carry forward drivers are most likely to get the same 6-speed automatic or manual transmission. As for the petrol-fueled 2.7-liter engine, we are not sure if the automaker will continue to use it or not.
The new Toyota Fortuner launch will get affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Perhaps the SUV might be revealed towards the end of 2020 or in early 2021.
