Check out Nissan’s new digital-friendly logo
KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, you read it right. Nissan, indeed, has introduced its new logo. The announcement took place alongside the reveal of the all-new Ariya, an all-electric crossover ready to take on the EV market. Also, it has become the first Nissan vehicle to showcase the brand’s new logo.
Looks like adopting new logos has become a thing, first VW got a new badge, followed by BMW ‘s new emblem, and now Nissan.
The automaker’s new logo, like the previous one, has a circle intersected by the text ‘NISSAN’. Compared to the earlier logo, the text appears more freestanding with no physical interaction with the loop it houses. Also, while the old logo featured a solid outer ring with ‘NISSAN’ name bisecting it, the new logo displays an incomplete circle. Another noticeable change is the increased gap in the letters. It looks like Nissan is conveying the message of social distancing.
According to the automaker, it started the redesign process in 2017 with the motive to make the new moniker ‘thin, light, and flexible’. Another requirement was to make the logo apt for future EV models that will carry 20 LED lights around the Nissan logo.
Overall, Nissan’s new logo is simpler and flatter, making it apt for digital use - which is the future of marketing and sales.
Nissan said the new logo would gradually appear across the brand’s various platforms.
