Check out Hyundai’s latest future mobility vehicle, the Tiger X-1

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai's forward-looking New Horizon studio in partnership with design and software experts at Sundberg-Ferar and Autodesk has created the Tiger X-1. It is developed for the not-too-distant future and can on papers is capable of delivering supplies to a remote location, wait, the best part is yet to come, without any assistance. So, no crew is needed at all.

Why the name Tiger? Well, though it refers to the strong, exotic wild animal, it also breaks down into 'Transforming Intelligent Ground Excursion Robot'. The Tiger X-1 is the second Ultimate Mobility Vehicle from the brand's New Horizon division and is inspired by the 2019 Hyundai Elevate concept.

What does the Hyundai Tiger X-1 Ultimate Mobility Vehicle feature?

It comes with an all-wheel-drive configuration with each wheel mounted on an articulating subframe allowing the Tiger to climb over hurdles and walk over obstacles that are large to cross.

The 360-degree locomotion enables its wheels to swivel independently of one another. Thus allowing rotation, side to side, and forward movements.

Its modular design helps it accommodate a variety of cargo and it is designed to be completely unmanned working independently to fly-on deliveries to remote, extreme locations. Helping the Tiger X-1 do its job is another unmanned aerial vehicle that'll drop the Tiger to a drop zone near the destination. It will also recharge the Tiger when needed.

Where can the Tiger be put to use?

Apart from delivering cargos to extreme locations with difficult terrains, the Tiger X-1 can also be used for uncrewed surveillance. It will also prove helpful in case of natural disasters and climate incidents when supplies need to reach the affected location. In short, it will be delivering everything from urban packages to relief supplies.
