Check Mazda2 expressway photoshoot amidst lockdown
KUALA LUMPUR: Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, countries around the world have imposed lockdowns. Thailand is one such nation where the Royal Decree for national curfew is placed in order.
In such difficult times, a man from Thailand soon created a buzz on the internet when he posted pictures of his Mazda2 parked in the middle of an expressway.
It seems like the Mazda2 owner couldn’t pass the opportunity to do a photoshoot of his car in the middle of a deserted expressway. The images are of the Si Rat Ring Road Expressway, where the man didn’t even bother to park on the side of the road.
So, does this mean he violated the national curfew? Well, we checked, and it’s not the case. As movement restrictions in Thailand were imposed starting April 3 and the images were posted at an earlier date, i.e., March 29. It looks like the man is clear on this end; however, the Expressway Authority of Thailand is not at all pleased with his action and will soon pursue a case against him.
The owner of the yellow Mazda2 will now be remembered as the guy who gave the world some nice pictures to see and, at the same time, as the one who violated the expressway regulations.
We are still not sure if he’ll face two-year jail time or slapped with a fine of USD$1800 (equal to RM 7857) as these are only applicable for individuals breaking the national curfew.
Certainly not worth the risk despite all the likes one will get on social media.
