Charles Frump, new Managing Director of Volo Car Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Volvo Car Malaysia has a new managing director, Charles Frump. Prior to this, Charles was designated as Volvo Car India's MD and was assigned to the post in 2017 until his present appointment here in Malaysia.
On taking up his new appointment Frump said, “I am excited to embark on a new chapter of my journey with Volvo in a new market. I see Malaysia as a crossroad of the places I have been in the past, and I look forward to working closely with the local team, individual by individual, to build our strengths.”
Frump has replaced Nalin Jain, who served as Volvo Car Malaysia MD from 2019 to 2020.
Wanna know more about the new MD? Well, he has a long term association with Volo that dates back to 2009. Back then he was appointed as Volvo Car Japan Director of Marketing. Overall, Frump has experience of more than two decades in the automotive industry. He has taken up various roles in areas of network management, marketing, customer service, and sales, and that too in several markets across Asia, Europe, and the United States.
In his new role, Frump will look after Volvo's overall operations and will drive the automaker's electrification vision in the local market.
Speaking of electrification, Volvo Malaysia is the first automaker in the country to have a complete PHEV range, including the recently launched XC40 Recharge T5 R-Design.
