By 2025, we’ll have over 30 new Audi EVs
KUALA LUMPUR: Markus Duesmann, Audi AG’s Chairman of Board of Management said that the automaker will ‘launch more than 30 electric cars by the end of 2025’. He further clarified that 20 out of these 30 cars will be all-electric units. Sounds like Audi has made up its mind to make a shift towards clean and sustainable mobility. Further proving its determination are its recent models including the e-Tron GT and the all-electric Gran Turismo.

Also, the automaker will be converting its internal combustion engine powered models into proper hybrids. In fact, we already have quite a few hybrid variants of its top selling models, like the Q7 hybrid, A6 hybrid, Q8 hybrid, and the all-new A3 hybrid. Though Audi has not revealed its electric-transformation plan but Duesmann earlier confirmed an all-electric compact Audi for April 2021. We suspect it to be the Q4 e-tron or Q4 e-tron Sportback.
The Q4 e-Tron was unveiled back in 2019 during the Geneva Motor Show, once launched it will be placed below the current-flagship e-tron SUV. On arrival it will be the company's electric-level EV, until a smaller model arrives in the future.
The Audi Q4 e-Tron concept is powered by dual electric motors that pump out a maximum power of 302 PS and a peak torque of 460 Nm. It draws power from a 82 kWh battery pack that delivers a range of over 450 km. The power is sent to all-four wheels and it takes 6.3 seconds to hit the century mark on the speedometer.
On the similar page, other luxury automakers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz are also focusing on green and clean mobility options. For instance, the BMW i4 and Mercedes EQA will be Audi EVs biggest competitors.
