Bugatti Veyron’s Successor to be Dubbed as Chiron
Kuala Lumpur: Bugatti has confirmed that it would be launching a new car which will be a faster successor to Bugatti Veyron at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor Show. This new car would be dubbed as 'Chiron'. What's in a name? We agree. But Bugatti has a habit of naming its cars after famous people. Just as the Bugatti Veyron was named after a French racing driver Pierre Veyron, Bugatti Chiron is named after Louis Chiron who was a legendary racing driver as well. This comes out as a tribute to Louis Chiron who was a Bugatti driver during 1920s and 1930s and won almost all the major grand prix for them. According to Bugatti, he was one of the best racing drivers in his time, and with that the automaker promises this car to be the best of its time too.
With more than 100 pre-orders already been placed, Bugatti Chiron is still being tested by the automaker. Its prototypes are going through a rigorous testing program by running on various types of roads and in different climate conditions. As claimed by the automaker, this is being done to make this car the world's most powerful, most luxurious and the fastest super sports car.

Apart from the name, nothing much has been revealed about the car. But, it is expected to be powered by an updated version of Veyron engine that is an 8.0-litre Quad-turbo W16 engine which churns out a maximum power of 1500 PS along with a peak torque of 1500 Nm. We can also expect some impressive performance figures as Veyron has already set a benchmark with a century sprint in 2.5 seconds along with a top speed of 431 kmph. Earlier this year, Bugatti hinted that its hybrid power could be a key to faster acceleration and high speed. Looks wise, Bugatti Chiron is expected to resemble the Vision Gran Turismo concept car which was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier in September.
