Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport continues an exclusive roadshow in Europe
KUALA LUMPUR: Bugatti has been producing sports cars for over 110 years. Different Bugatti models have claimed countless victories at road races, and international hill climbs. Recently unveiled Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is no exception to this long-standing legacy. The hyper sports car is currently on an exclusive roadshow adventure through different cities in Europe.
Started from the headquarters in Molsheim, the hypercar has embarked on a trip to Paris, with a few more stops en route to Geneva, including London and Hamburg. With the display for the world to see, Bugatti delight the people with its one of the most potent production cars.
“We are very happy to finally present the new Chiron Pur Sport to our customers. Many were disappointed about the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show”, said Bugatti President Stephan Winkelmann. “As the most extreme hyper sports car in our Chiron family, it has already won many fans. It is an uncompromising hyper sports car, created for even more agility and cornering dynamics. Pure and extreme.”
The automaker calls the Pur Sport "most agile and uncompromising Chiron ever". According to it, the hypercar features significant technological improvements on its chassis, engine, gearbox, and tires. For say, it is equipped with new suspension joints to make room for negative camber.
Chiron Pur Sport is 110 pounds lighter than the regular Chiron. Thanks to a multitude of weight-saving decisions, including magnesium wheels, that saved 35 pounds. Removal of hydraulics, lightweight brake discs, and titanium brake pad base panels further lead to weight reduction.
Powering the hypercar is quad-turbo 8.0-litre W16 engine kicking out 1.500 PS of maximum power at 6.900 rpm and 1.600 Nm of torque from 2000-6.000 rpm. The engine now equips shortened gears for its transmission, which helps in faster acceleration. It can cover a run from 60 to 120 kmph in less than 4.4 seconds, while standard Chiron takes 7.4 seconds for the same. Its top speed is rated at 350 kmph.
Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport production is limited to just 60 units, and its assembly will commence in the latter half of the year. Pricing starts at $3.3 million (more than RM 14 million).
