At the rear, the tailgate gets a distinctive ridged design, complemented by new LED tail lamps and a larger Mazda logo. Adding to the pickup’s strong road presence are new alloy wheels.
Mazda has also expanded the BT-50 colour palette with the addition of three new colours - Red Earth, Geode White, and Sailing Blue.

Also part of the update is a bigger 7-inch Multi-Information Display, providing customisable content and enhanced connectivity.
The pickup comes with new upholstery options, including a striking black and terracotta Maztex and synthetic suede. The seat covers also feature a stitched ‘BT-50’ logo on the headrests. As for convenience, the automaker has provided wireless Android Auto connectivity and USB-C sockets with the upgraded truck.
Safety
The safety suite of the Mazda pickup has been comprehensively upgraded. It comes with new front stereo cameras that increase the vehicle’s field of view for overall enhanced safety.
Also new for 2025 are features like Traffic Jam Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Brake, and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control. The Autonomous Emergency Braking system now includes motorcycle and pedestrian detection at intersections, while Emergency Lane Keeping can identify road edges even without line markings.
Engine
Under the skin, the upgraded pickup truck continues with the same drivetrain options as the outgoing model. These include - 1.9-litre turbodiesel engine kicking out 150 PS and a more muscular 3.0-litre setup good for making 190 PS. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels via a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

Mazda has also rolled out a range of new Genuine Accessories for the Australian market. These accessories are developed in partnership with “trusted suppliers,” ensuring that the BT-50 meets the diverse needs of its users.
Upon introducing the new Mazda BT-50, Vinesh Bhindi, Managing Director of Mazda Australia, said: “Forming an integral part of our Mazda model range here in Australia, the BT-50 has set the tone as a versatile, ready-for-anything vehicle that suits a variety of customer needs whether it’s as a trusty work companion or an enabler for life’s passions.
“For 2025, this impactful new design has matured our much-loved ute to be an even more compelling choice regardless of the task in hand.”
