Say hello to the new BMW X5 Black Vermilion edition
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW X5 offers an amazing combination of comfort, luxury, performance, and style. And, to further spruce up this exciting combo, the German automaker introduces a special edition model called the BMW X5 Black Vermilion. The new iteration is based on the hot M50i trim and it is destined for the European market. However, the special Black Vermilion X5 based on xDrive40i is also confirmed for the US.
So, how the new BMW X5 Black Vermilion is different from the standard X5, let’s explore.
To begin with, the special edition model boasts Shadowline high-gloss black kidney grille with red vertical bars, which creates a striking contrast with the BMW Individual special paint finish Frozen Black metallic. Further adding to the distinctive look are darkened M Shadowline Adaptive LED headlights which are integrated with Laserlight featuring a blue X design.
Other specific touches are:
- Aggressively-styled front and rear bumpers
- M high-gloss extended Shadowline exterior trim
- 22-inch, double-spoke 742M light-alloy wheels with exclusive Orbit Grey matt finish
- Red high-gloss M Sport brake calipers
- M Sport exhaust system
Just like the exterior, the BMW X5 Black Vermilion edition cabin also gets unique touches. These include BMW Individual Full Merino black leather upholstery with red piping, Black Vermilion edition badging on Piano Black center console trim, and floor mats with red piping. Adding to the list of premium and hi-tech features are M Alcantara anthracite headliner, leather dashboard, heated steering wheel, Harman Kardon sound system, Glass controls, Parking Assistance Package, and a Premium pack that comprises remote engine start, head-up display, and gesture control.
Powering the Euro-spec X5 M50i is a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing a maximum power of 523 hp and a peak torque of 750 Nm. On the other hand, the US-spec xDrive40i takes its energy from a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine generating 335 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to the same 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Besides the X5, BMW also rolled out the Black Vermilion edition for the X6 and X7 in the Old Continent, where all three special trims will go on sale next month. The BMW X5 Black Vermilion price tag reads €93,200 (RM 463,125), the BMW X6 Black Vermilion is priced at €100,700 (RM 500,393) and for the BMW X7 Black Vermilion, customers will need to shell out €108,700 (RM 540,059).
