BMW X3 lineup gets new M Sport trim

KUALA LUMPUR: BMW recently launched a new M Sport variant in the existing  X3 lineup in Malaysia named as xDrive30i M Sport. Priced at RM328,800, new M Sport variant costs around RM 15k more than the xDrive30i Luxury. Limited to only 120 units, this new spec trim adds more versatility to the X3 lineup. This will help in attracting customers looking for some real fun behind the wheel. M Sport comes with the same five-year unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled services and 24-month tyre warranty.

The interiors of M Sport comes with the new set of sports seats up front and gets an all-new Vernasca leather upholstery with blue contrast stitching. More features include a new M sport leather-wrapped M steering wheel, M door sills, aluminium and pearl chrome cabin trimmings and the same 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system.

Talking about exterior, the front and rear bumpers are much more aggressive and looks sportier than the standard siblings. The front grill of the car is slightly redesigned to make it look bigger with large air intakes, X3 xDrive30i M Sport is now equipped with M sport suspension, M sport brakes and M Aerodynamic body kit. It also gets the addition of new 20-inch double-spoke style 699 M alloy wheels.

Safety features are identical to the luxury line, no surprises here as it comes with the same set of 6 airbags, ABS, DSC and ISOFIX mount on the outer rear seats. Some key safety features are still missing like the lane-keeping assist and forward collision warning.

X3 xDrive30i M Sport is powered by the same B48 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine churning out 252 hp at 5200 to 6500 rpm with the torque output of 350 nm at 4800 rpm. BMW uses the twin-turbo technology and an eight-speed automatic which helps the car to reach the top speed of 240 kmph. 0-100 comes in around 6 sec which is quite fast. It also gets all-wheel drive as standard along with three drive modes - Comfort, Sport and Sport+. The electronically adjustable suspension has also beefed up and there are new anti-roll bars too.
