It comprises an ultra-wide 31-inch panorama display that deploys from the roof; it will be available in 16:9, 21:9, or a 32:9 aspect ratio. The display resolution of the screen will be exceptionally high with 8000 × 2000 pixels per screen ensuring an extremely clear visual experience. It will be mated to the advanced Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System delivering a high-end and multifaceted sound experience.

With an aim to offer a wide variety of content to the customers all while on the road, the automaker is currently working with Amazon to fully integrate this Theatre Screen system with Fire TV. With the My Mode settings of the BMW Theatre screen, one will be able to arrange the different vehicle functions like dimming the lights or closing sunblinds for the “one-of-a-kind immersive entertainment experience.” Occupants will also be able to tilt the screen to the ideal angle, adjust the volume via control panels positioned on the door handles, and connect headphones when needed.

Frank Weber, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG Development: "We develop immersive, digital experiences for sheer driving pleasure. In Theatre Mode, the rear of the interior is transformed into a private cinema lounge. This hi-tech BMW Theatre screen would be available in the brand’s upcoming "luxury-class models” for which a country-specific streaming offering is also underway in China.
