BMW Malaysia reveals X2 M35i official pricing

KUALA LUMPUR: Earlier today, BMW Malaysia revealed its updated price list for the year 2019. In the said list was also included the official price of BMW X2 M35i that was first previewed locally in May and is expected to arrive at dealerships by the end of this month. Cutting to the chase, F29 BMW X2 M35i is priced at RM 398,000 that’s on-the-road without insurance. Not far from its estimated price tag of RM 400,000.

Powering the BMW X2 is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine that churns out a maximum power of 306 hp along with a peak torque of 450 Nm. The said mill is coupled to BMW’s xDrive AWD and 8-speed automatic gearbox with launch control. With said configuration, the flagship X2 can touch the 100 kmph mark in 4.9 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.

Enabling it to perform the way it does are features like upgraded brakes with blue calipers, M Sport mechanical differential on the front axle that reduces traction loss on the front wheels, and steering wheel with revised tuning. Further, it gets M Sport adaptive suspension - complete with two selectable modes. The Malaysian-spec X2 stands on 20-inch Style 721M wheels in Cerium Grey and are wrapped in 225/40 Pirelli P-Zero run-flat tyres.

BMW X2 side

The outside styling follows BMW cars with standard M Sport package, however, with a few minor changes here and there. The design tweaks include satin Cerium Grey finish on the wing mirror caps and kidney grille, and dual 10 cm diameter exhaust tips liked to X2’s M Performance exhaust system.

The cabin too gets M Sport package with M sports seats and M strips seatbelts as options. BMW X2 standard fitment list includes -a Navigation Plus system, head-up display and a 360 watt, an 8.8-inch touchscreen, and 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Even at RM 400k, the BMW X2 skips autonomous emergency braking.

Like all the other BMW cars, the X2 too comes with a two-year tyre warranty programme, and a five-year unlimited mileage warranty with a free scheduled service programme.
