BMW Malaysia introduces 2023 i7 xDrive60; priced at RM 729,800

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only in May that BMW Malaysia launched the 7th gen 7 Series in the country and now the automaker is ready with another luxurious offering, the i7.

The all-electric i7 is offered in a single variant option in the local market, called the xDrive60 M Sport variant. Though BMW is yet to share the official specs sheet, our current knowledge about the EV is based on the previous sighting on BMW Malaysia’s online configurator.

Price and variant

The BMW i7 is offered in the sole xDrive60 M Sport variant which retails for RM 729,800 on the road without insurance. Included in this price is

• BMW Service Online

Platform

The i7 is underpinned by the same platform as the 2023 BMW 7 Series, the Cluster Architecture (CLAR).

Powertrain

Powering the BMW i7 xDrive60 are two electric motors, one at each axle offering all-wheel drive. The setup generates a maximum power output of 544 PS along with a peak torque of 745 Nm.

The e-motor is fueled by a 101.7 kWh underfloor-mounted lithium-ion battery which offers a range of 625 km. Helping the battery charge are max AC and DC charging rated at 11 kW and 195 kW, respectively.

Performance

The above configuration allows the EV to complete a century sprint in 4.7 sec and attain a top speed of 240 kmph.
