BMW M8 Competition’s images leaked again
KUALA LUMPUR: We had seen the first set of leaked images of the upcoming BMW M8 Competition a few months back. The top-spec variant of the BMW 8 Series, M8 is back in the news with a new leak. This time the car features a different color.
There are a few differences between the recently leaked and previously surfaced set of images. For example, you can see more carbon-fibre parts that are used in boot lid spoiler, side mirror caps and bumper trim. Apart from this, the wheels of the car come with black accent trim, which was also seen in the previously leaked blue-coloured model. Besides, the M8 Competition is expected to come with unique seats, carbon-fibre trim and competition badges.
As the name suggests, the M8 Competition be positioned above the standard ‘M8’ and will equip a 4.4-litre S63B44T4 bi-turbo V8 engine. It is capable of churning out a maximum power of 650 PS, which means the power has been bumped up by 20 PS than the standard variant.
This engine has also been seen on the current BMW M5, where it pumps out the maximum power of 600 hp and peak torque of 750 Nm. It takes just 3.4 seconds to speed up from 0 to 100 kmph. On the other hand, the M5 Competition pushes out a maximum power of 625 hp and takes 0.1 seconds less than the standard variant to reach from 0 to 100 kmph.
Coming to the regular M8, the M850i xDrive variant is powered by the similar 4.4-litre V8 mill, and delivers a maximum power of 530 hp, while the peak torque is 750 Nm.
