BMW is the first automaker to provide live in-car football streaming
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW has become the first automaker to offer its car with Bundesliga German football league streams in a pilot test!

In the future, the automaker will roll out the feature in regions outside Germany including Asia, Europe, and America.In order to access the league content via the Bundesliga in-car application, the user would have to activate the Personal eSIM in the car. The high-speed 5G football streaming will be provided by the BMW car’s antenna through mobile data service.
The users will be able to watch Germany's premier football match via the dedicated application on the BMW Curved Display; the latter can be seen on the BMW cars like the iX and facelift 3 Series. Soon the 7 Series will also be made available to the Bundesliga in-car application; however for now it is only limited to German users.
In the future, the automaker will roll out the feature in regions outside Germany including Asia, Europe, and America. It is only until 31st March 2023 that the said pilot programme will run.
Now, for safety reasons users will be only able to view football content when the car is stationary; thus helping the users to pass time while the car is getting charged or stuck in traffic. When on the move, users will be able to listen to an audio of the live stream.
On a similar note, BMW partnered with AirConsole last year which will provide video games in cars that users would access via the Curved Display.
