BMW i7 is not far from its global debut; get ready

KUALA LUMPUR: The BMW i7 will soon be hosting the premiere of its' most luxurious and innovative car yet', the i7.

The Mercedes-Benz flagship EV, EQS, arrived yesterday, and today the i7 is coming. It's like we can't catch a breath.

Once arrived, the BMW i7, a 7 Series with no combustion engine, will be the range-topping model in the series. And though the car has been previewed several times over the past few months, the complete picture is still a bit blurry. BMW i7's global debut will add all the missing parts of the puzzle.

How much do we know about the BMW i7? Let's find out.

Platform: The upcoming i7 will sit on the same platform as the combustion-engine powered 7 Series G70.

Range: The European model will offer a range of up to 625 kilometers. In the case of the North American model, it's 521 kilometers.

Bold design language: The images reveal the i7 as a stunning-looking car with an aggressive design approach shared with the 7 Series. Some of its eye-catching elements are the split headlights, huge grille, and illuminated contour.

Cabin amenities: A luxe vibe with high-quality material and best-in-class amenities are given for the i7. Some of the confirmed amenities include a 31-inch 8K OLED entertainment display with an aspect ratio of 32:9 for the rear seat and a small screen on the passenger side of the dashboard.

Powertrain: The EV will most likely be powered by a twin-motor electric system generating maximum power of 610 hp and 1,100 Nm of peak torque. It is expected to get an all-wheel-drive system, a Level 3 autonomous driving system, and the latest iDrive technology.
