BMW Group Malaysia is taking steps to improve electromobility

KUALA LUMPUR: The internationally recognised BMW High Voltage Expert Certification programme has been introduced in Malaysia. Through this initiative, BMW Group Malaysia will cultivate highly skilled experts that are well-versed with the brand’s electrified offerings. Thus, leading to better electromobility in the country.

BMW Malaysia for long has been working on enhancing the EV landscape of the country. Be it by the means of planting a wide network of charging stations or introducing the High Voltage Expert Certification programme. The latter very well compliments with the hype in the EV arena especially with the introduction of the latest BMW i vehicles.

The BMW High Voltage Expert Certification will surely act as an integral pillar in developing a mature EV ecosystem in Malaysia. Here are a few key details about the BMW High Voltage Expert Certification programme -

• A BMW High Voltage Expert works on the highest level on a BMW EV
• The experts will get certified via a training programme conducted at the BMW Group Regional Training Center
• Once certified, the expert can service and repair the most advanced BMW i vehicles around the world
• In order to be a BMW High Voltage Expert, a candidate must be an existing BMW High Voltage Technician and must undergo a pre-selection process (including an interview and knowledge assessment round)
• A full body check-up and first-aid certification are also part of the pre-requirements to be an expert

• The total training programme lasts for 25 days. It includes 15 days of intensive training, two theory exams, and four practical exams. Once cleared, the prospects move to the next step that includes a final theory exam and practical demonstration under live high voltage which is completed in another 10 days

The BMW certified experts will add to the brand’s promise of offering a Premium Electric Ownership Experience.
