BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe to debut soon, images leaked online

KUALA LUMPUR: In a matter of a few days, we’ll witness the unveiling of the first ever G16 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe. And as for today, we got our hands of coupe’s leaked images. In these images are clearly visible the side and rear profile and things look highly promising and impressive.

So, the big question is, how the coupe version is different from the four-door model? To start with the later features a slightly less rakish windshield gets integrated lip spoiler, and provide adequate headroom for rear passengers.

Also, though not confirmed, the Gran Coupe features a longer wheelbase, and on the exterior, it gets a pronounced window line, and with all doors displaying frameless window design.

As for the car’s under the hood confirmation, the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe will get the same mills that currently powers the 8 Series range. Included in the list are -

• Entry-level 840i and 840i xDrive with 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder mill with 335 hp and 450 Nm
  840d xDrive diesel unit with 3.0-litre 6-cylinder twin-turbo mill churning out 320 hp and 680 Nm
• M850i xDrive with 4.4-litre V8 bi-turbo petrol engine offering 530 hp and 750 Nm
• Lastly, the range-topping S63 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbo unit developing 600 hp and 750 Nm
