Bentley future plan: 5 new EVs by 2030 & a new model in 2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Back in 2020, Bentley led the foundation of its Beyond100 plan wherein it committed to become a carbon-neutral fully-electric brand by 2030. Moving forward towards its goal, the automaker has committed to launching five new EVs by 2030 with the first to arrive in 2025 and one per year thereafter.
In an interview with Autocar, Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark confirmed that the first full-electric model will “be an incremental product to the ones we have today” in the auto arena and therefore won’t compete with anything currently on offer.
Mr Hallmark further confirmed that the first EV (from the set of five) will underpin the Volkswagen Group platform. The other four EVs will not feature the same platform but higher or lower depending on the requirement.
Bentley has already begun the development of the first EV due in 2025. As Hallmark said, “We know the battery, the performance of the battery. The final design is weeks to a couple of months away.” He also confirmed a range of 480 km.
In addition to the five EVs due in 2030, Bentley will also introduce five new hybrid derivatives of the Flying Spur and Bentayga. All “to meet the diverse needs of Bentley’s discerning customers”. The automaker expects 20 percent of its total sales this year will come from hybrid cars.

Where will the new EVs get manufactured?
Bentley has confirmed that its five new EVs will be built at its Crewe headquarters. Bentley recently committed GBP2.5 billion to plant development with a sheer focus on sustainability. Called the ‘Dream Factory’, it is a “digital, zero environmental impact, flexible and high-value manufacturing facility”.
Further elaborating on the plant's sustainability factor, within the next two years the number of solar plans will go up from 30,000 to 40,000. Also, heavy research is going into the use of sustainable biofuel in fleet cars, like the Bentley’s Heritage Collection cars.

Hallmark said, “Simultaneously accelerating our Beyond100 strategy and securing BEV production at Crewe, alongside a £2.5 billion investment, makes this a major landmark in Bentley’s 102-year history. It is a shining light for the Bentley family, our suppliers and partners, as well as the automotive industry and UK manufacturing as a whole.”
“This latest announcement regarding Bentley’s Beyond100 plan confirms the initiation of a major transformative phase in the company’s long and illustrious history. The world is changing and we need to play our part in neutralising our environmental impact. That means delivering on our aim to be end-to-end carbon neutral by 2030, and reaffirming our role as the leader in sustainable luxury mobility.”
