Audi TTS gets a new ‘Competition Plus’ trim in Europe

KUALA LUMPUR: The faster and more powerful version of the TT Coupe, the Audi TTS gets a special design-oriented and sporty equipment line model in the European market, known as the TTS Competition Plus. The new version aims at sharpening the sporty status of the TTS with sportier styling and more power under the bonnet.

Powering the Audi TTS Competition Plus is the same 2.0-litre turbo four-pot engine but now it makes 320 PS (14 PS more) and 400 Nm of peak torque. Also for transmission, the new iteration uses the same seven-speed dual-clutch auto driving all four wheels through Haldex all-wheel-drive. Due to the same mechanical setup, the zero-to-100 kmph sprint times are also identical to the standard model; the Coupe takes 4.5 seconds, while the Roadster hits the mark in 4.8 seconds. The top speed is also limited to 250 kmph.

Positioned below the TT RS, the TTS Competition Plus is nicely equipped on the outside with the appointments like LED headlights, 20-inch, 10-spoke gloss black rims, a fixed rear wing, black accents, red brake calipers, and side graphics with the four rings logo. The four exterior color choices include chronos grey, glacier white, turbo blue, and tango red.

Inside, it boasts a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit gauge cluster, Fine Nappa leather interiors with contrast stitching (either red or blue), chrome elements, Gloss Tango Red or Satin Turbo Blue air vents, carbon design inlays, and an Alcantara gear lever knob. A flat-bottom steering wheel with a grey or red 12 o’clock bar further accentuates the cockpit’s look.

Alongside the TTS Competition Plus, the German automaker also introduced a new ‘Bronze Selection’ version for the TTS and standard TT. True to the name, it adds bronze accents to the interior as well as the exterior of the car, including seat trims, center console, air vents, and 20-inch five V-spoke wheels.

The Audi TTS competition plus will go on sale in Germany this month at a starting price of EUR 61,000 (RM 296,879). The ‘bronze selection’ package will cost around EUR 6,190 (RM 30,126 ) for the TT and EUR 4,490 (RM 21,853) for the TTS.
