Audi TT teaser - Registration Open

Kuala Lumpur: Audi TT Malaysia has started off its registration for Audi TT third generation, which clearly indicates an Audi TT launch to happen very soon. The much applauded coupe made its first appearance on a global level at the Geneva Motor Show while its Roadster open top variant made its debut on September 2014. Audi is even teasing its set of audience with a more practical 5-door TT variant for the economical aspect with a TT Sportback concept and even a crossover-stylised variant billed as TT Offroad Concept.

Made based on MQB platform of VAG, Audi TT facelift is 2mm longer than the previous generation, however with a further increase of wheelbase to 37mm to 2505mm the practicality is increased. Aerodynamics have been increased further by reducing the width to 1837mm but the height remains same as 1353mm.

The most impressive aspect of the interior of Audi TT is the virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch TFT LCD display which clearly replaces the traditional instrument panel. This clearly breaks the need of a MMI screen on the centre and thus allows the dashboard to become more streamlined. Like its precursor, Audi TT brings along an aluminium/steel hybrid space frame construction and this is optimised a bit more to shed off unwanted kerb weight which hampers the performance aspect. Talking about the suspension, the provided suspension is McPherson strut on the front and Multi Link suspension on the rear.

The base variant, 1.8-litre TFSI engine delivers a maximum power of 180 bhp alongside 250 Nm torque which when clubbed to a 6-speed S tronic double clutch gearbox can breach 100 kmph mark in just 7 seconds. The 2.0-litre TFSI can deliver figures of 230 hp and 370 Nm while TTS 2.0-litre TFSI breaks through really tremendous performance delivering 310 hp power alongside 380 Nm torque.
