Audi Malaysia opens ordering books for the 2023 RS 3 sedan

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only late last month that Audi Malaysia announced the arrival of the all-new 2023 RS 3 sedan. Thus offering a total of five RS sedans for customers to choose from the local lineup.

The all-new RS 3 is tagged as the second-generation model and holds an expected price range of RM 650k to RM 750k.

Here’s what we know about the new Audi RS3 sedan -

• The 2023 Audi RS 3 is powered by a 2.5-litre TFSI turbocharged inline-five cylinder petrol engine generating maximum power of 400 PS from 5,600-7,000 rpm along with peak torque of 500 Nm from 2,250-5,600 rpm
• The drive is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission

• The above-mentioned specifications allow the new RS3 sedan to complete a century sprint in just 3.8 seconds and attain a top speed of 250 kmph
• Audi has added the sedan with RS Torque Splitter that enables the system to send all the engine-produced output to one single wheel. This is done via an electronically controlled multi-disc clutch on every driveshaft

• The sedan gets a new RS Performance drive mode that adjusts the engine to deliver optimum performance
• Other drive-enhancing modes include - RS Torque Rear mode, Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Efficiency, and RS Individual

• The cabin comes loaded with several high-end tech features including a 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit, a 10.1-inch touchscreen information display, a powertrain status display, a head-up display and a shift indicator

• Other features included in its specs sheet are - an RS-specific front bumper, a distinctive LED headlight (Matrix LED optional), new tail lights with dynamic indicators, an RS exhaust system with oval tailpipes, an RS-specific rear bumper with an integrated diffuser, a fully variable flap control system

Once launched, the new RS3 sedan will rival the Mercedes-AMG CLA45 S coupe. Priced at RM 467,691, the four-door Mercedes is powered by a 2.0-litre inline-four-cylinder turbo engine making 421 PS and 500 Nm of torque. The drive is transmitted to all-four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
