Audi and Volkswagen Malaysia gets a new managing director

KUALA LUMPUR: Porsche Holding Salzburg (PHS) Malaysia has appointed a new co-Managing Director for PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) and Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM).

From 1st July 2023 onwards Denyu Bostandzhiev will succeed Erik Winter and helm operations for the Volkswagen and Audi brands. With his expertise in business strategy and operations, product development, and branding. Denyu will lead Sales, Aftersales and Network Development, Marketing, and IT for both Companies. Therefore constantly working on raising the profile and strengthening the Audi and Volkswagen business in Malaysia.

Denyu said, “I am enthusiastic about returning to Malaysia to offer a premium experience for customers in which Audi and Volkswagen prides itself in. I believe that both the brand core values of digitalisation, design and sustainability - evident in the strong line-up of progressive premium and affordable premium products, will continue to captivate the local market.”
Denyu Bostandzhiev will jointly work with Kurt Leitner who will continue to handle the company's HR and finance operations.

Here are a few attributes that Deny Bostandzhiev will bring to the table -

• Almost 20 years of experience in the automotive and engineering industry across three different continents
• Reprised many roles on three continents since 2004
• In his last role as the Managing Director of Porsche Ukraine LLC, he restructured all brand departments and introduced a Business Process Management program to create a cutting-edge long-term brand strategy
• He is no stranger to the Malaysian market, as in 2016 he was assigned for two and a half years to the market and was instrumental in securing the operations for locally assembled Volkswagen Arteon, Tiguan Allspace, and Golf GTI

As for Erik Winter, he will be moving to Chile as Porsche Holdings Salzburg’s managing director. His contribution to PHSAM and VPCM included -

• Reintroduction of the Audi brand in Malaysia in July 2022
• Driving greater customer confidence via aftersales, strengthening dealer network, and expanding product range for VW Malaysia
