Aston Martin DBX made an official debut in ASEAN market
KUALA LUMPUR: In recent times, all the major luxury carmakers of the world have jumped into the manufacturing of SUVs and crossovers. Even the ultra-luxury ones like Lamborghini and Bentley are not behind in this race. It seems like this is the key to success in the current market as their sales skyrocket quickly. With the same hopes, the British automaker. Aston Martin introduced its first SUV last year, whose deliveries are expected to begin soon.
A few days ago, the first Aston Martin DBX SUV rolled off the production line at the brand's new factory in Wales. Well, the best part is that the SUV has recently made its way to SouthEast Asia. The regional debut took place at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show.
Speaking about the Aston Martin DBX design, the SUV has a striking, stylish, and suitably sporty appearance. It is a standout vehicle that eschews boxy blockiness for an elegant and exotic profile.
Under the bonnet, DBX is powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 produced by Mercedes-AMG, which can churn out 550 PS of maximum power and 700 Nm of torque. The power travels through a 9-speed automatic to the vehicle's AWD system that features an active central differential and an electric rear limited-slip differential.
The high-riding DBX has an active exhaust system and cylinder deactivation. It reaches 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds and peaks at a top speed of 291 kmph. The Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time of the DBX prototype was less than 8 minutes.
Inside, the DBX features full-grain leather-trimmed seats. The headliner and electric roof blinds are available in Alcantara. Upfront, there is a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay connectivity and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. A 360-degree camera system and a full-length glass panoramic sunroof are among the other goodies. The SUV has 832 litres boot space with second-row seats and 1,540 litres when seats are down.
Aston Martin appears to hit the bullseye with its all-new DBX. And now, when the SUV has already landed on the ASEAN region's shores, we are expecting its soon arrival in the local market.
