Adding to the list of hi-tech features are Active Safety Brake, blind-spot monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and different drive modes.
Under the hood, it carries a 1.2 litre PureTech turbocharged three-cylinder engine that delivers a power output of 110 hp at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 230 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. The fuel consumption is rated at 22.22 kmpl.

Proton X50
First of all, the new 2008 stands against the segment’s best-seller model, the Proton X50. This SUV has everything up its sleeve to woo the customers be it hi-tech features, style, and performance. It comes in four trims - Standard, Executive, Premium, Flagship, priced between RM 79,200 to RM 103,300.
With the Flagship model, the customers get auto headlamps, front fog lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, a dual-tone exterior paint finish, 7.0-inch digital instrument panel, 10.25-inch touchscreen with voice-command assistant, auto air-conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, and several active safety and driver assistance systems.
Powering the Proton SUV is a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo engine, available in two tunes. The lower version delivers 150 PS along with a peak torque of 226 Nm, while the higher iteration is good for making 177 PS and 255 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT sending power to the ground. The fuel consumption stands at 15.3 kmpl.
Honda HR-V
Honda HR-V is the model that single-handedly created the B-SUV segment in the local market in 2015. Since then, this Japanese SUV has been winning the hearts of Malaysians with its looks and contemporary features list. Currently, Honda offers the car in five variants - E, V, RS, Hybrid, and SE, priced between RM 104,000 and RM 118,581.
It is equipped with auto LED headlamps, front LED fog lights, LED tail lights, 18-inch wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, powered seats, Honda's LaneWatch blind-spot camera, leather upholstery, and a bunch of advanced safety features.
The Honda HR-V is powered by a 1.8-litre SOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine that pumps out 142 PS of maximum power and 172 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a G-Design Shift CVT sending power to the wheels. It runs for 15 kilometers with one litre of fuel.
Subaru XV
Subaru Malaysia introduced the new XV in the country last month in two versions - 2.0i-P Eyesight and 2.0 i-P GT Edition, priced at RM 139,788 and RM 146,788, respectively. The upgraded SUV comes with the new exterior styling, new technology features, and EyeSight ADAS suite as standard.
The standard trim features restyled auto-LED headlights and bumper along with new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. However, the GT version gets an exclusive body kit and 18-inch wheels. Inside, the significant highlights are an 8.0-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, multifunction steering wheel with paddle shifters, electronic parking brake, power-adjustable seats, and a rearview camera.
On the mechanical front, the new 2022 Subaru XV is equipped with a naturally aspirated boxer-four cylinder engine producing 156 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 196 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. It comes paired with a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
