Platform
The new X-Trail sits on a fully redesigned platform that apart from reducing the car’s weight, enhances the car’s rigidity. Also, the insulation against powertrain and road noises calls for a high level of cabin quietness.
Powertrain
Powering the new X-Trail is powered by the second-gen e-POWER electric powertrain system that features improved power, quietness, and smoothness. Part of the system is a petrol engine which is the world’s first mass-produced variable compression ratio engine and here acts as a generator to produce electricity.
Going by the numbers, the 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine generates a max power of 144 PS at 5,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 250 Nm from 2,400-5,000 rpm. As for the e-motor, it is good for 204 PS and 330 Nm. As mentioned above, while the e-motor drives the wheels, the petrol mill is only there to charge the high-voltage battery.
The new X-Trail is offered either as a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive model. The latter features automaker’s e-4ORCE electric all-wheel drivetrain that delivers - powerful & smooth output, intuitive driving, smooth ride, and confidence to drive on all kinds of roads.
Exterior
The 2023 X-Trail combines the ‘tough gear’ legacy of the first -gen model with higher levels of quality. Part of the car’s exterior kit is a two-layer structure headlamp with turn lamps & position lamps at the top and boomerang-shaped tail lights. The lineup is offered in 12 hues, including five two-tone options.
Cabin
Like the exterior, the interior looks and feels both premium and tough. Some of the highlighting inclusions are - a 12.3-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display with two display modes (12.3-inch Nissan Connect navigation system with voice recognition and the larger 10.8-inch head-up display, best-in-class luggage space, Bose Premium Sound System, 100V AC power source, and more.
Safety
The all-new X-Trail offers a wide range of safety tech that supports a variety of driving conditions. The list includes - Nissan Safety Assist 360 with cameras, radar, and sonar, SOS call service, adaptive LED headlight system, ProPILOT with Navi-link, and ProPILOT Park.
