All-new Lexus TX debut confirmed for June 8

KUALA LUMPUR: Lexus has planned a pretty hectic year ahead with the launch of several new models, two of which will see the light of day soon. We are referring to the 3rd gen GX and the all-new TX SUV. While we’ll be discussing the former in detail separately, here the focus is on the upcoming TX SUV.

2024 Lexus TX: What we know so far

• The Lexus TX will be a three-row SUV that is said to replace the already discontinued RX L
• The upcoming RX will be offered in three variants namely the TX 350, TX 500h, and TX 550h+

• The above-mentioned name suggests the SUV will be offered in three powertrain options - a naturally aspirated/turbo, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid
• The SUV will be built on the GA-K version of the Toyota New Global Architecture and is based on the Toyota Grand Highlander, however, with some similarities and notable differences
• If the new TX shares the same dimensions as the Grand Highlander (5,116mm x 1,989mm x 1,781mm), it will offer more room compared to the RX L
• With no long-wheelbase version of the RX available, the upcoming TX will be a perfect introduction

• The cabin will feature a 2-2-2 layout with the middle row getting two individual chairs and a center console
• The front row will get an armrest with several controls taking care of various in-car functions
• The SUV will benefit from the brand’s Latch electronic door release system along with the Mark Levinson sound system and a rotary climate control knob

While all these are speculations, we are waiting for the exact specifications which are expected to be revealed with the car’s launch.
