KUALA LUMPUR: On October 16, 2024, Stellantis officially introduced the Leapmotor C10 EV in Malaysia, marking the all-electric brand's Southeast Asian debut. This launch signifies Stellantis' ongoing commitment to accelerate Malaysia's transition towards electrification. Further, the automaker had strong backing from the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), thus demonstrating the nation's push toward sustainable energy and the adoption of next-generation vehicles (NxGVs).

Stellantis, a global automotive leader, collaborated with Leapmotor International, to expand the Leapmotor brand beyond China. This marks Malaysia as the second international market for Leapmotor after Europe, highlighting the country’s growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs).

The Leapmotor C10 EV is offered in a sole Design variant, priced at RM 149,000 (until, Nov 30, 2024), latter the car will retail for RM 159,000.

Note, that the price tag includes a six-year/150,000k m warranty, and an eight-year/160,000 km Battery warranty, whichever comes first.

The C10’s 69.9 kWh battery powers a single rear motor generating 218 PS and 320 Nm of torque, enabling a 424 km range on a full charge. The above-mentioned figures enable the EV to go from a standstill to the century mark in just 7.5 seconds, after reaching a maximum speed of 170 kmph.

Charging

The C10 EV can accept a maximum of 6.6 kW of AC charging, which can juice it up in 6.1 hours. As for DC fast charging, the maximum rate is 84 kW, where 30 minutes is needed to take the battery state of charge from 30 to 80%.
